We take the bicycle to the sea, in Jesolo, and then by boat to get to places in Venice that are revealed only to those who decide to follow paths for lovers of genuineness and life, that of true values, of the heart.
A day to discover three very suggestive islands: San Francesco del Deserto, Torcello and Sant’Erasmo.
San Francesco del Deserto opens the doors to a unique world for us, punctuated by daily rituals which have been renewed every day for almost ten centuries and which always refer us to the figure loved throughout the world of San Francesco. The monks will welcome you, to explain their daily life surrounded by the natural setting of a strongly spiritual place, they will tell you about the miracle of the birds and you will have the impression that time has stopped.
After the visit, by boat, we will move to Torcello for a refreshment stop and to observe how this small, almost uninhabited island still retains the vestiges of a distant and cosmopolitan world. Two thousand years ago the great Basilica was filled with hundreds of people to pray, today many visitors visit it, but then Torcello at the end of the day, returns to being a magical and exclusive place. You will have the pleasure of experiencing it in an unusual way, with a bicycle!
After the break, we will load our two-wheeled vehicle back into the boat to reach Sant’Erasmo, another island which, in addition to being unique due to its strong residential component, is also renowned for having been, and still today, the vegetable garden of Venice … if you didn’t know it, the famous “castraure” the violet artichokes grow here, which are awaited every year by their admirers for their delicacy.
You may have filled your eyes with beauty, but the day is not over yet! now we’re taking you to Treporti where we’ll leave our captain today and set off again pedaling along the cycle/pedestrian path overhanging the water, one of the longest in Europe, with 5KM overhanging over the water, to get to the end of our tour in Jesolo at the headquarters by Ebike for me.
